








Ray was a faculty member in the Center for Material Culture Studies at the U of DE. This book was produced in a research course taught by Professor Bernard Herman, director of CMCS.
Each of 12 students was given a topic related to the African American community in the New London Road area.
The plinth along the bottom of each page was a collage of 3,800 photographs taken by walking the entire route through the community.
